abstract = {In the context of Next Generation Networks (NGN), the emerging IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) framework appears as an candidate solution to achieve generalized network and access convergence. Thus, the question of how to integrate in IMS satellite systems, based on a standard solution like DVB-RCS fully makes sense. In this paper, the main requirements to support IMS in DVB-RCS networks are identified, and optimizations for these integrations are discussed. For this, four possible scenario are identified, and their technical feasibility is assessed. Experimental results emulating our network architecture proposals are also reported. At last, additional mobility network features, such as joint MobileIPv6 / IMS deployment is discussed.}
